The Central SUDO school at the 2026 International Martial Arts Day (Melle, Germany)

On May 16, 2026, the Central SUDO school—under the personal direction of the legendary martial arts figure Sabir Suleyman—delivered a world-class performance at the 2026 International Martial Arts Day (Melle, Germany), impressing the audience with modern combat techniques, tactical precision, powerful striking combinations, and an exceptional aesthetic of combat.

Two instructors, two assistant instructors, one World SUDO Federation Institute student, and twelve athletes from the Paderborn Central SUDO School participated in this international seminar. The day was a very positive experience, and hundreds of seminar participants from around the world gained valuable, high-level experience.

Trainer-Referee Ausbildung

Announcement

The next new group for the Trainer-Referee Ausbildung in SUDO will be opened on May 4, 2026, in Paderborn.

The Ausbildung can be completed in an accelerated format for international participants within 6 months. For participants in Germany, the duration of the Ausbildung is 2 years and 3 months. Examinations are held quarterly.

The Ausbildung fees are covered by the SUDO Association North Rhine-Westphalia.

After successful completion, participants will receive:
• Golden Diploma
• Black Belt with their own name and initials
• SUDO Passport
• Referee Certificate
• Trainer Certificate
• Qualification Certificate for the Black Belt

Additionally, participants will automatically become members of the World Federation, with their names listed on the official website.

International educational course and conference dedicated to the development of Para-SUDO

The World SUDO Federation successfully conducted an international educational course and official conference dedicated to the development of Para-SUDO in Antalya, Turkey, from April 12 to April 21, 2026.

During the event, specialists, instructors, representatives of adaptive sports, referees, and members of the international SUDO community discussed the further development of Para-SUDO, the athlete classification system, technical adaptation of combat methods, safety standards, as well as the organization of future international competitions.

Following the conference and official discussions, the previously developed Para-SUDO rules and athlete classification system were officially approved and confirmed for further international application.

The World SUDO Federation officially confirms the following Para-SUDO sport classes:

🥋 PS1 Class — Severe Physical Limitations

This category includes:

• wheelchair athletes
• athletes with paraplegia (paralysis of the lower body)
• athletes with severe coordination impairments
• athletes with absence or major limitation of leg function

Functional characteristics:

• techniques are performed mainly using the arms and torso
• execution of techniques in a seated position

Main feature:

• techniques are specially adapted for upper-body functionality

🥋 PS2 Class — Moderate Physical Limitations

This category includes:

• athletes with partial paralysis
• athletes with amputation of one limb
• athletes with significant balance or coordination impairments
• athletes using prosthetics or orthotic devices

Functional characteristics:

• athletes are able to perform techniques while standing, but with limitations
• reduced stability and physical strength

Main feature:

• techniques are partially limited, while maintaining technical and tactical variability

🥋 PS3 Class — Mild Physical Limitations

This category includes:

• athletes with mild musculoskeletal impairments
• athletes with moderate joint mobility limitations
• athletes with minor neurological impairments

Functional characteristics:

• nearly full range of movement
• slight limitations in speed, strength, or control

Main feature:

• techniques are closely adapted to the standard SUDO system with necessary modifications

⚖️ General Classification Logic

• PS1 → severe limitations (seated participation / minimal leg function)
• PS2 → moderate limitations (standing participation with clear physical restrictions)
• PS3 → mild limitations (near-full functionality)

The World SUDO Federation officially declares that these Para-SUDO rules and classification standards shall be applied at all official Para-SUDO events, seminars, championships, educational programs, and international competitions conducted under the authority of the World SUDO Federation.

In March 2026, within the span of one week, the World SUDO Federation suffered significant losses — Honorary President Chuck Norris and International Director Peter Fahl passed away.

In connection with this, early elections have been scheduled for April 4, 2026, in Paderborn.

10th Youth and Junior SUDO Tournament “Open Paderborn”

On February 16, 2026, the 10th Open Youth and Junior SUDO Tournament “Open Paderborn” was held in Paderborn, Germany, organized by the World SUDO Federation.

The event was conducted with the purpose of promoting SUDO among children and youth, strengthening international friendship between athletes from different countries, and improving the technical and sporting level of the participants.

Young athletes, coaches, representatives of sports clubs, and members of the international SUDO community took part in the tournament. The competition was held in an atmosphere of sportsmanship, discipline, and fair play.

The participants demonstrated:
• a high level of technical preparation
• speed and tactical thinking
• determination to win
• respect for opponents and sporting discipline

Special attention during the tournament was given to:
• the development of youth sports
• the promotion of moral and sporting values
• strengthening international cooperation
• supporting talented young athletes

The tournament became an important stage in the international development of SUDO and once again confirmed the strong interest of young people in this martial art.

Following the competition, the winners and prize winners were awarded diplomas and medals.
